Decisions, Decisions, Decisions …

Warning!  Partially finished applique block with potential problem fabric – proceed with caution.

Does the word “bright” apply here?  That’s intentional – it’s a companion piece for wallhanging I did a few years ago from the same fabrics.  But the plaid is the new kid on the block and just isn’t working for me.  Which is why there are 2 huge, gaping holes where the other roses are supposed to be.  Anyway, I’m having a hard time finding the right fabric in my stash.  And I’m still really snowed in so not getting more any time soon.  And I need this block finished in less than a week!  What to do?  I guess I’ll try another fabric and see how it looks when appliqued in place.  Hope I don’t have to remove too many roses before I get it right!

From where I sit, the plaid looks fine. Of course, I am viewing the project on my laptop screen, so don’t have the view you do. Have you looked at it through a reducing glass? That often shows me either my mistakes, or that someting I thought was a mistake was not.

Actually, I use a pair of binoculars turned backwards instead of an official reducing glass & they work just as well.

Thanks for the heads up on the needles and thread you are using.

All the pieces you have posted look great! No one would ever suspect you are a novice at applique. Please keep posting your work. Grace.
