Another Applique Block Completed!
Friday, February 8th, 2008Really enjoying applique! Ordered some straw needles and 11A applique needles from www.roserushbrooke.com. I was using old needles I had on hand and every stitch was a minor struggle. These new straw needles are very thin and just glide through the fabric effortlessly - a real treat! The applique needles are good too, but I like the extra length of the straw needles. Well, except when I run short of thread and don’t have enough left to tie off – then the shorter applique needles come to the rescue. I’ve just finished this very cute block.

In addition to the new needles, I started using Bottom Line thread by Superior Threads and it is great for applique! Highly recommended by me, the applique novice. And you can get a variety of colors in the prewound SuperBOBs 12 packs.
